A 2023 Lexus GX460 averaged AED 177,000 in our closed sales and a 2016 AED 89,000. Asking prices on our current listings run from AED 71,000 for a late-2010s car up to AED 78,100 for one of the last of them.

Mechanically it is exceptional for a heavy off-roader: only 4% of the Lexus GX460s we inspect in the UAE show a fault in the engine, gearbox, suspension or steering, against the 16% we would expect for SUVs of the same age and mileage here. Bodywork also reads better than the class, at 47% previous panel repair against 57% expected for that same group. At a typical 117,000 km, this is a car whose weak point is fuel consumption rather than condition.

The Toyota Land Cruiser is the stronger financial call at 63% retained after five years, and easier to get serviced anywhere. The Nissan Patrol costs similar money, is quicker and more comfortable on the road, and shows mechanical faults in 11% of cars against a 19% expectation for its class. The GX is the smaller, tougher, more tightly built of the three.

2020 to 2023, because those are the last and the best of the line. The GX460 ran from 2010 to 2023 with no platform change — a spindle grille and better cabin electronics arrived in 2014, a redesigned front end and a full safety suite in 2020, and the model was replaced entirely for 2024 by a turbocharged successor. That makes a late GX460 the final naturally aspirated V8 version, and the one to buy if simplicity is the point.

Better than the class — about 56% of its value after five years, against roughly 52% for UAE SUVs of its size and the same 52% across Lexus locally.
