Buy on the service record rather than the badge. The turbocharged petrol engines and dual-clutch gearboxes running through most of the range are strong when maintained on schedule and expensive when they are not, so what you are assessing is how the last owner treated it. Three things to check: the gearbox at crawling speed, where a tired dual clutch shudders; the cooling system and water pump, which the heat punishes; and the electrics.
