Our closed UAE sales put a 2018 Nissan Pathfinder at an average of AED 33,000, a 2015 at AED 28,000 and a 2014 at AED 16,000. The top of that ladder is flat, with three model years close together, so condition should decide. Our listings ask between AED 16500 and AED 146800.

Which used Nissan Pathfinder year should you buy?

The single most useful fact about this car is the gearbox. From 2013 to 2021 the Pathfinder used a CVT; the all-new 2022 model replaced it with a conventional nine-speed automatic and gained a much better interior at the same time. If the budget reaches 2022 or later, take it. If not, 2017 to 2020 is the best of the older shape, freshened that year with a new nose and more equipment.

Is a used Nissan Pathfinder reliable in the UAE?

Nothing mechanical stands out, and what our inspectors do flag is cosmetic. Across more than 650 Pathfinders CarSwitch has inspected in the UAE, 76% show previous body or panel repair, against the 69% we would expect for SUVs of the same age and mileage in the Emirates, and 47% have interior staining against an expected 39% — the Ford Explorer reads identically at 47%. Three rows of children do that. On the pre-2022 car, spend the test drive on the CVT: warm, uphill and from a standstill, watching for hesitation or revs flaring between ratios.

Nissan Pathfinder or Toyota Prado?

The Toyota Prado is the tougher vehicle and costs far more. The Nissan X-Trail is the smaller, cheaper-to-run Nissan and shows an electrical fault on only 2% against an expected 11%. The Pathfinder is the value choice if you genuinely need the third row.

What to check on a used Nissan Pathfinder

  • CVT when hot on any car built before 2022.
  • Third-row seats, belts and boot floor.
  • Paint and panel workmanship rather than the fact of repair.
