Used Land Rover LR2 for Sale in UAE

The Land Rover LR2 is the older, now-discontinued compact SUV from before the Discovery Sport took over, and what remains on UAE roads has covered real distance by now — this is a car to shop with the inspection report open, not the badge alone.

How much does a used Land Rover LR2 cost in the UAE?

Well under a comparable Land Cruiser or X5 of similar size. Expect roughly AED 17500 for an older example up to AED 17500 for a newer one, and at this stage in the car's life, the service file behind it matters far more than the year on the plate.

Which used Land Rover LR2 should you buy?

There is no newer generation to wait for — production ended some time ago, so every LR2 available is an older car by definition. The one with the most complete, most recent maintenance record is the one to choose.

Is a used Land Rover LR2 reliable?

This is the car on the list to inspect most carefully rather than to walk away from outright. We find interior staining on 80% of LR2s against the 50% we would expect for compact SUVs of similar age and mileage in the UAE, and a mechanical fault, in the engine, gearbox, suspension or steering, on 60% against the 32% expected for the same class. The larger LR4 in the same range shows a similar pattern on interior wear, which points to age and use across the family rather than one unlucky batch.

Anything else worth knowing about the Land Rover LR2?

Stepping up to Land Rover's own LR4 buys more space for more money and a broadly similar risk profile. Among outside rivals, the Nissan Patrol costs considerably more but comes with a far longer regional service record to lean on. Staying with the badge, the Range Rover Sport asks far more again and shows prior body or panel repair on 53% of the cars we inspect against the 65% we would expect for SUVs of that age and mileage here.

What to inspect on a used Land Rover LR2

  • Engine, gearbox and suspension tested by an independent mechanic before anything else.
  • Interior condition throughout, given how often staining turns up on this car.
  • Air suspension and electrical systems for age-related faults.
  • Full, recent service history, since factory cover ran out long ago.
