Used Kia Sonet for Sale in UAE

The Kia Sonet is the smallest SUV Kia sells in the UAE — hatchback footprint, SUV height, bought for the high driving position without a big car's fuel bill or parking problem.

What to inspect on a used Kia Sonet

  • Which engine and gearbox — specification varies more than the badge suggests.
  • Remaining factory warranty and the servicing that keeps it valid.
  • Kerbed wheels and tyre dates, the usual small-SUV wear.

Read the bodywork section of the CarSwitch inspection report first on any Sonet — a straight car at this price is the whole proposition.

Frequently asked questions

Expect between AED 50,000 and AED 59,000 on our current listings, all mid-2020s cars. A used one sits around 16% under a new Sonet, so buying used here is about availability and specification rather than a large saving.

Straight bodies, and that is the useful finding: just 6% of the Kia Sonets we inspect in the UAE show evidence of previous body or panel repair, against the 28% we would expect for small SUVs of the same age and mileage here. Compare the Nissan Kicks, at 59% against a 53% expectation for its class.

The Kicks is cheaper to buy and roomier in the back, but its inspection record is the weaker of the two. The Ford EcoSport undercuts both by a wide margin and shows why, with interior staining at 48% against a 34% expectation for its group. If you want space rather than compactness, the Mitsubishi ASX is the sensible alternative and holds 60%.

The 2024 update is the one to hold out for. The Sonet reached this market early in the decade and was restyled for 2024 with a squarer nose, new lights and a larger screen; earlier cars are mechanically the same but visibly older. Every used example is still young, so condition should decide it before the model year does.

Unusually well for a budget SUV — about 64% of its value after five years, against roughly 51% for small SUVs in the UAE and 49% across Kia's local range.
