Most people buying a used Porsche in the UAE are buying an SUV, and the numbers say they are right to: the crossovers are what make the badge usable every day, with the sports cars alongside them for weekends. The smaller crossover has switched to battery power for its latest generation, so the petrol ones are now a closed set.

How much does a used Porsche cost in the UAE?

Asking prices run from AED 24000 to AED 551000 across the 27 cars we have live, a spread wide enough to cover two entirely different purchases. The figure we can date: a 2023 Cayenne sold at AED 356,000. At the far end of the age range an early Cayenne is cheap to buy and not cheap to keep, which is the trap on this badge — judge any price against cars of the same year and engine.

Are used Porsches reliable?

They are the best-kept cars we see. Of the 1,026 Porsches we have inspected in the UAE, just 7% show an electrical or electronics fault against the 12% we would expect for SUVs of the same age and mileage here; 50% carry evidence of previous body or panel repair where 59% is typical; and interior staining appears on 20% against an expected 30%. Owners maintain these cars, but at a median of 119,000 km the servicing bills are real, so read the mechanical pages of the CarSwitch report and price the next major service in before you offer.

Which used Porsche should you buy?

The Cayenne is the family answer and the widest choice at any budget. The Macan is the better-driving, easier-to-park one and the pick if the car is mostly for city use. Step to the Cayenne S or the Macan S for the bigger engine, and take the 911 Carrera S only if a sports car is the whole point.

What to check on a used Porsche

  • Service records — specialist or main dealer, with no long gaps.
  • Air suspension holding height overnight, where fitted.
  • Brakes and tyres, both large bills on these cars.
