Changan sells on the simplest proposition in the UAE market: a well-equipped, warranty-backed car for less than the Japanese or Korean equivalent, mostly the CS crossovers plus the Alsvin, a small saloon for first-time buyers and fleets. Used ones are young, low-mileage cars, and the range has moved quickly — the CS75 Plus reworked the cabin and the styling over the CS75 it sits above.
How much does a used Changan cost in the UAE?
This is the cheap end of the market and unapologetically so — roughly what a five-year-old mainstream hatchback costs, for a far newer and better-equipped car. Asking prices across our current UAE listings run from AED 25500 for a small saloon up to AED 55200 for a family crossover, and nothing in the range asks premium money.
Are used Changans reliable?
The mechanical side is conventional and that works in your favour: turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engines and ordinary automatics, nothing exotic to fail. What needs verifying is the paperwork — whether the factory warranty is live and transferable, whether servicing happened at the agent, and whether every screen and driver aid still works, since equipment is the whole pitch. Read the electrical section of the report, then the mechanical one.
Do Changans hold their value?
Middling, taken across the model curves we can measure: Changans average about 47% of their value after five years in the UAE. Since the entry price was low to begin with, the money at risk is small, which is part of the appeal.
Which used Changan should you buy?
The Alsvin is the budget answer, a small automatic saloon that costs almost nothing to run. The CS75 Plus is the family pick, with the newer styling and the better cabin. The CS75 is the earlier version of the same car and the cheaper way into the size.
Changan or BYD?
BYD is the one to take if you want electric or plug-in, and Chery offers a wider crossover range and a longer local presence. Changan's edge is price, and on the Alsvin it has no real equivalent from either of them.
