Used Mitsubishi Montero Sport for Sale in Abu Dhabi

The Mitsubishi Montero Sport is a seven-seat, ladder-frame SUV — a proper off-roader with a third row. In the UAE it goes to families who want Pajero toughness in a newer, more civilised body. We have 4 used Montero Sports listed across the Emirates.

What to check on a used Mitsubishi Montero Sport

  • Third row and boot trim for staining and water marks.
  • Underbody and skid plates if the car has been off-road.
  • Gearbox shifts when warm, particularly on 2019-onward cars.

Read the interior and underbody sections of the CarSwitch inspection report first — that is where a family car and a hard-worked one separate.

Frequently asked questions

A 2019 Mitsubishi Montero Sport averaged AED 45,000 in our closed UAE sales, a 2017 AED 40,000 and a 2016 AED 24,000, so the steepest step on the ladder falls between 2016 and 2017. Our listings run from AED 42,000 to AED 70,000.

Mechanically it comes through well; the interior is what shows its life. 41% of the Montero Sports we inspect in the UAE have interior staining, against the 28% we would expect for SUVs of the same age and mileage in the Emirates — that is what three rows and school runs do, and the Nissan Pathfinder reads the same at 47% against an expected 39%. Tyres are better than the class: 5% against an expected 12%.

The Prado is the better long-term hold and the harder car to get into. The Mitsubishi Pajero is cheaper and shows cleaner panels at 59% against an expected 68% for the class, but it is the older design. Take the Montero Sport for the newer cabin and the seven seats.

2019 to 2021. The current Montero Sport arrived for 2016 as a genuinely new vehicle, then was reworked in 2019 with the full-width rear lights, a smarter cabin and a better automatic gearbox. That 2019 update is the meaningful line, though a 2017 or 2018 car is the same chassis for less if you can live with the older interior.

Exactly in line with its class — about 56% after five years, matching the SUVs it competes with. The Toyota Prado is the benchmark at about 63% and costs far more to buy in.
