GWM (Great Wall Motors) is a fast-growing Chinese automotive brand making a serious push into the Gulf — its UAE lineup spans pickups and body-on-frame SUVs priced from AED 84,900 to AED 234,900, targeting buyers who want genuine off-road hardware at a significant discount to established Japanese and American rivals. The Tank sub-brand, in particular, has earned attention for delivering Land Cruiser-adjacent capability at a substantially lower price point.
GWM vehicles are distributed in the UAE by GWM Gulf, with showrooms and service centres operating in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The brand entered the UAE market in the early 2020s as part of a broader Gulf expansion.
The UAE lineup covers two core segments across seven models. On the pickup side, the Poer is the entry point from AED 84,900 — a double-cab workhorse with 4WD as standard. The SUV range is anchored by the Tank family: the Tank 300 is a compact off-road SUV with a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine and a hybrid option at the top trim; the Tank 500 steps up to a larger, more premium three-row SUV with a 3.0-litre engine; and the flagship Tank 700 sits at the top of the range at AED 234,900, offering a full-size, luxury-oriented SUV with a turbocharged petrol engine. Across the range, four-wheel drive is standard rather than optional — a meaningful point of difference against similarly priced rivals that often relegate 4WD to higher trims.
