GWM sells one idea in the UAE and sells it well: the Tank, a boxy, body-on-frame off-roader with modern equipment at a price no established four-wheel-drive brand matches. It is a weekend-in-the-dunes car that works as a daily. GWM has split its output into sub-brands, and Tank is the off-road one, which is why these share almost nothing with the Haval crossovers.

The questions that matter are about use rather than age: an off-roader collects underbody damage, bush and steering wear that a road car does not, so have the underside inspected and check that the transfer case and locking differentials actually engage.
