Buy the newest you can find in good order. The H9 has not been on sale here long enough to have a clear best-year pattern, so a careful inspection of the individual truck matters more than the plate.

Below the wider class — the H9 retains about 45% of its value after five years, against 51% for large SUVs of similar age and mileage in the UAE, a gap that reflects how new the brand's off-road line-up still is here.

Inspected trucks show a median of around 21,000 km, which for a body-on-frame off-roader is still very early days, and nothing in our findings suggests a developing weak point at that distance.

The Toyota Prado costs considerably more but shows fewer prior body or panel repairs than the class average and has a resale story the H9 cannot yet match. A Mitsubishi Pajero sits closer in spirit and price, with body and panel history better than we would expect for the segment. The Nissan X-Trail is a cheaper unibody alternative if you do not need low-range gearing at all.
