A 2021 Nissan Altima averaged AED 42,000 in our closed UAE sales, a 2020 AED 35,000, a 2018 AED 29,000, a 2016 AED 19,000 and a 2014 AED 13,000. Our current listings ask between AED 9,500 and AED 98,000.
The honest answer is that the paperwork matters more than the model. Among the more than 1,100 Altimas CarSwitch has inspected in the UAE, 82% carry previous body or panel repair, against the 68% we would expect for sedans of the same age and mileage in the Emirates — but this is a car bought to work, and the Hyundai Sonata reads at 97% against an expected 69%. That is history, not damage. Mechanical faults appear on 33% against an expected 24%, mostly wear at high mileage. What every used-Altima buyer really asks about is the CVT: it is not a reason to avoid the car, but it is the reason to drive one warm for twenty minutes, watching for hesitation or a flare in revs between ratios.
Read the gearbox and body sections of the CarSwitch inspection report on any Altima in the UAE — those two decide which of two identical-looking cars to buy.
2019 to 2022, and the reason is a hard generation line. The 2013 to 2018 Altima is the older, softer car. For 2019 Nissan replaced it completely: new platform, stiffer body, a modern cabin and far better safety kit. Stretch over that line rather than buy a high-spec 2018.
The Toyota Camry is the safer car and costs more at every year. The Nissan Maxima is the V6 version of the same idea for similar money, quicker and thirstier. The Altima is the volume choice, which means the widest selection and the strongest negotiating position.
