Twelve cylinders, and one of the very few cars still sold anywhere with that many. The Maybach S 680 sits at the top of the Mercedes price list in the UAE and exists to be the quietest, smoothest way to travel by road.
How much does the Mercedes-Maybach S 680 cost in the UAE?
AED 1,315,799 for the Maybach S 680, the highest 2026 price of any Mercedes sold here. The gap to the V8-powered S 580 beneath it buys the 6.0-litre V12 and the additional interior specification that goes with it — the body, the wheelbase and the rear-seat architecture are shared between the two.
Is the V12 worth it over the V8?
Only if the engine itself is the point. In performance terms the difference is academic, and both cars are equally quiet from the back seat. What the V12 offers is rarity and the way it delivers power — utterly unstressed, entirely without drama. As a driving experience it is subtle; as an ownership proposition it is increasingly a collector's argument.
Maybach S 680 or Bentley Flying Spur?
The Maybach is the more comfortable and better-isolated car, and the one built specifically around the rear compartment rather than adapted to it. The Bentley is the more hand-finished object and carries the older name. In this market the Mercedes has the far stronger dealer network, which matters more on a car like this than the brochure suggests — the BMW 7 Series is the cheaper way to similar rear-seat comfort.
Does the S 680 hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
Slightly behind the ultra-luxury field — about 67% of its value after five years and 78% after three, against roughly 71% and 82% for cars at this level. On any V12 the servicing history is what protects the value, and on a Maybach the condition of the rear compartment matters as much as the mechanical report. Have both examined before agreeing a figure.
If the V12 is not essential, the S-Class range offers the same rear seat for a great deal less. The used Mercedes listings stretch that logic further still.
