The Seal is BYD's sports saloon: a low, 4,800 mm electric four-door on the brand's dedicated EV platform, with all-wheel drive and a 0-100 km/h time under four seconds.
How much does the BYD Seal cost in the UAE?
The two 2026 trims are separated by less money than most manufacturers charge for a paint colour. The Design starts at AED 149,900 and the Premium at AED 154,900, which means the usual advice to save money on the base car does not really apply — take the higher one and stop thinking about it.
Which Seal should you order?
The Premium, on the arithmetic above. Both cars share the platform, the battery and the performance, so the walk-up buys interior and equipment upgrades rather than a different drivetrain. When a trim step costs this little, the used market will price the two almost identically later, which makes the better-equipped car the cheaper one to own.
BYD Seal or Tesla Model 3?
The Seal is the more interesting car to sit in and the better value on paper: more equipment for the money, a proper 400-litre boot, and BYD's own cell chemistry underneath. The Tesla Model 3 remains the benchmark for software, charging access and long-distance usability, and none of that is trivial. If a saloon is not essential, the BYD Atto 3 gives you the same brand and a more practical shape for less.
What does a Seal cost to run in the UAE?
Charging at home is where the saving is, and an electric drivetrain removes oil changes, filters and gearbox servicing from the schedule entirely. Budget instead for tyres, which a heavy, quick, all-wheel-drive saloon works hard. Sales and after-sales go through the brand's authorised network, and the battery warranty is the document to read closely before signing.
Does the Seal hold its value, and what should you watch for as it ages?
It holds about 66% after three years and about 50% after five, a shade behind the roughly 67% and 52% typical of Chinese brands here — the pace of electric-car pricing is what pulls those numbers down, not the car. Inspected cars sit at a median of around 20,000 km, still early in the car's life, with nothing concerning showing up so far. That is a young population, so the inspection report on the individual car, and its battery health, is what should decide a used purchase.
Compare the new price against what is listed used before you order. On a car this recent the gap is often smaller than the warranty is worth.
