GMC in the UAE sells size and towing capacity above all: full-size, body-on-frame, V8, with two crossovers underneath for people who want the badge on a smaller budget. What has changed is how far upmarket the Denali trim has been pushed, alongside the off-road AT4 line, so on recent cars trim separates them as much as the model name. We have 19 listed.

How much does a used GMC cost in the UAE?

Age does more to the price here than trim does. A 2023 Yukon sold at AED 187,000 and a 2018 at AED 72,000 — the same car, five years apart, for well under half the money. Asking prices across our UAE listings run from AED 10000 for a high-mileage crossover up to AED 329000 for a current-year full-size SUV.

Are used GMCs reliable in the UAE?

They are looked after better than the class average on the item most large SUVs fail: only 6% of the GMCs we have inspected in the UAE come in with mismatched or damaged tyres, against the 12% we would expect for cars of the same age and mileage in this market. At a median of 118,000 km, that says owners here have kept up with the expensive consumables. The rest of the inspection is about the drivetrain — V8 cooling, transmission behaviour when hot, and the air suspension on higher trims, which is the one component that turns a cheap Yukon into an expensive one.

Poorly, and that is the whole opportunity: GMCs average about 39% of their value after five years across the models we can measure. A four-year-old Yukon costs a fraction of the new one and lost nothing a buyer can see or feel.

Which used GMC should you buy?

The Yukon is the one people come here for: seven or eight seats and a proper tow rating. The Sierra is the same drivetrain with a load bed instead of a boot. The Terrain is the cheapest way to wear the badge, and the Acadia the middle option with a third row on a normal budget.

What to check on a used GMC

  • Transmission when fully warm, on the road rather than in a car park.
  • Cooling system and fans, judged hot.
  • Air suspension on Denali trims — height, levelling, compressor noise.
  • Third-row AC vents and rear blower output.
