Jeep in the UAE splits into two buyers: the one who actually goes into the dunes at the weekend, and the one who wants a school run that looks like it could. Both are served by the same range, and both should shop on condition rather than price. We have 90 used Jeeps listed.

How much does a used Jeep cost in the UAE?

Our UAE listings run from AED 6500 for an early-2010s car to AED 288900 for a current-year one. Set at one age, the range separates properly: among 2019 cars a Grand Cherokee sold at AED 60,000 and a Cherokee at AED 44,000, while back in 2017 cars a Wrangler went for AED 59,000 against a Grand Cherokee at AED 41,000. Newer, a 2023 Wrangler sold at AED 129,000. One recent addition worth knowing about is the Gladiator pickup — the only Jeep here that pairs the axles with an open bed.

Are used Jeeps reliable?

Better than their reputation, and the panels are the surprise. Across more than 2,000 Jeeps we have inspected in the UAE, at a median of 125,000 km, 44% showed evidence of prior body or panel repair against the 62% we would expect for SUVs of the same age and mileage here — a markedly cleaner record than the class. Mechanically they also come in ahead: 14% had a fault in the engine, gearbox, suspension or steering against the 18% expected for that class. Off-road use is what the averages cannot see, so on a Wrangler check the underside and the differentials.

Do Jeeps hold their value?

Jeeps average about 43% of their value after five years across the models we can measure, and that average hides a wide spread — the Wrangler is in a different league from the rest of the range.

Which used Jeep should you buy?

The Wrangler if the off-road capability is real to you and you accept the road manners; the Grand Cherokee if you want a comfortable, air-sprung family SUV and the widest choice on our inventory. The Compass is the small-budget answer, the Cherokee the sensible middle, and the Gladiator only if you need the bed as well as the axles.
