Frequently asked questions

There is effectively one generation to choose from at this point, so focus on remaining factory warranty rather than the registration year — on a Chinese brand still building its dealer footprint in the UAE, that cover is worth more than a marginally newer plate.

Below the class here — the Dargo holds about 43% of its value after five years, against 51% for mid-size SUVs of similar age and mileage in the UAE. Buy it for the equipment and the price today, not as a store of value.

Our inspected cars sit at a median of around 40,000 km, still well inside any reasonable service interval for the 2.0-litre engine, with nothing in our checks flagging early wear.

A Honda CR-V costs more but holds its value far better and has the wider service network; our checks do find more mechanical faults on it than the class expects, so a pre-purchase inspection still matters. The Ford Ecosport is cheaper if the extra kit on the Dargo is not essential to you. Staying in the Haval range, the H6 GT above the Dargo swaps some cabin space for a sportier roofline.
