Which used Nissan Patrol year should you buy?

Settle Y61 versus Y62 first — two different vehicles sold side by side here for years. The Y61, the Safari, is the old-school one: live axles, a straight-six, minimal electronics, and the choice of people who take a Patrol into the dunes and fix it themselves. The Y62 arrived in 2010 with independent suspension, a comfortable cabin and a V8 or V6, and was heavily updated in 2020.
