Mercedes is the default UAE luxury purchase, which is why the used choice is so wide: one badge covers a compact saloon on a family budget and a G-Class costing seven figures. The G-Class is the interesting case now — it is sold with an electric drivetrain alongside the V8, with no change to the shape.

How much does a used Mercedes cost in the UAE?

Asking prices run from AED 19000 to AED 1025000 across the 140 cars we have live, and the badge tells you very little about the money. Among 2021 cars a C 200 sold at AED 110,000 and a G 63 AMG at AED 388,000. Go back to 2016 and a C 200 went for AED 46,000, a G 63 for AED 143,000. What you choose is a size and an era, not a brand.

Are used Mercedes reliable?

The expensive parts hold up well. Across the 3,831 Mercedes we have inspected in the UAE, 13% show a mechanical fault in the engine, gearbox, suspension or steering, against the 17% we would expect for sedans of the same age and mileage here, and prior body or panel repair sits at 56% against an expected 60%. Two things run the other way: 14% carry an electrical or electronics fault where we would expect 12%, and 18% arrive on mismatched or damaged tyres against an expected 13%. At a median of 110,000 km, the electrical pages of the CarSwitch report are where two similar cars stop being similar.

Do Mercedes hold their value?

They do not, and that is the used buyer's advantage: Mercedes average about 44% of their value after five years across the models we can measure, so the first owner has already paid for most of the car.

Which used Mercedes should you buy?

The C 200 is the cheapest way in and the easiest to run. The E 300 is the sweet spot if you want the full executive car. Choose the GLE 450 for a family SUV with the six-cylinder drivetrain, and the G 63 AMG only if nothing else will do.

A used BMW is the keener drive for the money; the Mercedes is the quieter, better-riding car and the one with the deeper parts supply here.
