Hyundai is the UAE's default answer to wanting a lot of car for not much money — a saloon or crossover with a full equipment list at a price the Japanese equivalents do not match. It suits first-car owners, families on a budget and expats who want a dealer nearby. We have 76 used Hyundais listed.
How much does a used Hyundai cost in the UAE?
Our current UAE listings ask from AED 9500 to AED 124990, spanning an early-2010s hatchback to a current-year three-row SUV. At the same age the two crossovers separate clearly: among 2022 cars a Tucson sold at AED 59,000 and a Santa Fe at AED 77,000; the same pair from 2020 went for AED 37,000 and AED 46,000, and a 2015 Accent sold at AED 18,000. Note that the Tucson's current generation moved to a much sharper design, so a late car and a 2020 barely read as the same model.
Are used Hyundais reliable?
They are durable but they arrive used up, and the report is where that shows. Across more than 2,100 Hyundais we have inspected in the UAE — median mileage just under 120,000 km — 67% carried evidence of prior body or panel repair against the 60% we would expect for cars of the same age and mileage here, and 25% had a mechanical fault against the 18% expected for that class. That is what a car bought to work looks like — price the work in before you offer.
Do Hyundais hold their value?
Middling, which is the case for buying used rather than new: Hyundais average about 51% of their value after five years across the models we can measure.
Which used Hyundai should you buy?
The Elantra is the sweet spot — cheap to run, easy to sell, most equipment per dirham. Take the Accent if the budget is the constraint, the Tucson if you want the ride height and the boot, and the Santa Fe or Palisade if you need seven seats.
Hyundai or Kia?
Kia is the same engineering with different styling — shop the two together and buy the better individual car. Toyota costs more and gives it back at resale; Hyundai gives the equipment now.
