The GS8 is GAC's seven-seater — aimed at the Pathfinders and Explorers of the world for a good deal less money. Used in the UAE it is a recent arrival with a short local service record, so warranty, parts and dealer reach are the buying questions, not pedigree.

How much does a used GAC GS8 cost in the UAE?

A 2021 GAC GS8 averaged AED 43,000 in our closed Emirates sales — three-row space for what a mid-size five-seater usually costs. Current listings run from AED 58000 to AED 58000.

Which used GAC GS8 year should you buy?

Know which shape you are looking at. GAC replaced the first GS8 in the early 2020s with an all-new car — different platform, far more modern cabin, proper driver aids. The earlier one is a big, softly-sprung family SUV going very cheaply; the later one is genuinely competitive. If your budget spans the split, spend up.

How long does a GAC GS8 last?

Far enough that mileage is not what you buy on: the GS8s we inspect in the UAE reach a median of just over 83,000 km without a signature weak point emerging. On a heavy seven-seater in this climate the limit is cooling, air conditioning and suspension bushes rather than the engine — so buy on evidence those were maintained through several summers.

Does the GAC GS8 hold its value in the UAE?

It does not — about 41% of its value after five years, against roughly 51% for comparable SUVs of the same age. That is the cost of a badge still building its reputation, and why the used car is good value: the first owner absorbed the drop.

GAC GS8 or Toyota Prado?

The Toyota Prado is the opposite proposition — dearer to buy, and it keeps about 63% after five years. The Nissan Pathfinder costs similar money and is easier to service anywhere, though its cabins wear worse, staining on 47% of cars against 39% expected for its own band. Within GAC, the GAC GS4 is the cheaper, smaller option if the third row is not the point.
