Folks at Audi have come up with a newer and cooler form of driving, which they label as “Piloted driving”. Check out why it is one of the best car engineering feats done as of yet!
Audi seems to be way ahead of the game as they have already started working on creating a sensor which can “sense” traffic concentration and then kick into self-driving mode if the driver allows it. What this means is that when trapped in traffic, the car uses the traffic jam pilot and a 360 degrees sensor to take over for the driver.
There is also a higher level which even allows you to park the car in the garage. The car’s state-of-the-art internal systems take care of the parking with a touch of a smartphone!
The whole “sit-and-do-nothing-in-driving-seat” has garnered mixed reactions from people. People are vowed and nervous at the same time. And why wouldn’t they be? The car seems to jump straight out of a Harry Potter movie with a mind of its own! We think it will be a while before people become completely comfortable with letting go of their steering wheels.
Since the car seems to be way out there in technology, we wonder if it’s out there in price as well! Well, Audi assures us that the self-driving feature will come down from A8 to A6 soon enough, and maybe even A1 in the next few years! Let’s keep our fingers crossed pray that this happens soon!
