If you follow the car industry, you probably have a fair idea that vehicles are changing. And it’s not just the external design, the interior is also getting a facelift. For instance, future Audi cars can be radically different compared to its current lineup. But of course, you will probably have to wait a long time before seeing the changes in Audi cars for sale in Dubai.

Audi’s Future Plans

Some of Audi’s newest vehicles feature the proprietary MMI Touch Response infotainment system which has a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, an 8.6-inch touchscreen to control the climate, and a 10.3-inch infotainment display. The augmented reality screens are in the pipeline for the future. This means that future Audi cars will probably come with a smaller digital gauge cluster and the two touchscreens might be merged together as AR displays take over. If you are tech-savvy, you will likely welcome these changes.

Going Button-less

In addition to removing conventional displays with AR ones, Audi is also thinking of more ways to make its cars futuristic. Currently, the company’s cars do have a volume knob, but Lichte says buttons will be retired in the future. This means we won’t be seeing a traditional volume knob anymore.

Alternatively, we will probably see something like a volume rocker etched into a steering wheel. Or, speculatively speaking, maybe a virtual button of some sort. After all, there are many possibilities. And of course, there will likely be an option to control the volume with voice commands too.

If you are someone who is comfortable embracing new technology, Audi’s new plans probably sound exciting to you. It seems like the company is aiming for a more seamless design. However, for those of you who are more comfortable with real buttons and knobs, this might not be the best of ideas. Some people find buttons easier to handle.  Moreover, touchscreens can have their own share of problems. For instance, they can get covered with fingerprint smudges.

External Changes

Since the interior is changing, we can expect changes on the outside. In fact, Audi’s latest all-electric crossover SUVs such as the new EV Audi E-tron look different than the gas ones. Lichte says this is just the beginning and that design changes will be more evolutionary than revolutionary so that consumers will become accustomed to them rather than getting shocked.

Slowly and gradually, over the course of the next four years, we will see drastic design changes in the design of EVs. For instance, we can expect really low ride heights and low floors, as far as cars are concerned. The changes will result in improved aerodynamic efficiency and range. Crossover SUVs, on the other hand, will continue to have higher ride heights and similar seating positions.

All in all, it looks like we can expect a lot of exciting things from Audi in the next few years. We definitely look forward to some amazing cars for sale in Dubai in the future. In the meantime, if you’re looking to sell or buy a car, CarSwitch.com is here for you!
