In cooperation with the Northern Emirates, Al Nabooda Automobiles LLC, Porsche Centre Dubai has launched their first fully electric sports car, the Taycan. The Porsche Taycan is available in three models; the 4S, Turbo, and Turbo S.
Bringing you the electrifying news; CarSwitch, the hub for finding all-electric cars in UAE, would like to review the next-generation sports car.
Exterior
The four-seater Taycan has a sleek coupé profile with a four-door saloon body. With the intelligently fixed battery cells, the back has room for “foot garages”.
It also has rear legroom available, making it a spacious and airy car. The Taycan is a slender 911-like silhouette design.
Engine
The Taycan Turbo S is the most powerful sports car of all which produces 761 horsepower and matches the 911 GT2 RS in acceleration. It takes only 2.8 seconds to reach 100kph. It has two permanently excited synchronous motors for power; one mounted on each axle.
The Taycan is an all-wheel drive. To add to its performance it has the world’s first two-speed transmission in an EV. The transmission is installed on the rear axle which enables a fast acceleration and high-end speed.

Interior
The Taycan offers an innovative interior with several customization options. Taking inspiration from the classic 1963 Porsche dashboard, the Taycan has a curved, free-standing 16.8-inch instrument cluster atop the steering column with a rounded look.
Spread across in the shape of a wing, the upper and lower sections of the dashboard stretch across the entire width of the vehicle. It features a central 10.9-inch infotainment display and an optional passenger display. The Taycan has bid adieu to the hardware controls such as switches and buttons which are replaced by a black panel.
The black panel has on-screen, haptic-touch menus that are intuitive and can be operated by the simple voice command of “Hey Porsche”.

Battery, Charging, and Range
The Taycan has a system voltage of 800 volts, which allows exceptionally short charging times when high-power charging access is available. It can be charged on either side using alternating current (AC) or by using direct current (DC) on the right side.
Porsche also introduced the Porsche Mobile Charger Connect which allows the consumer to charge their cars at home.
The Taycan is now available on display at Porsche Centre Dubai, Sharjah, and Fujairah. The new model’s prices start at Dh431,800 for the Taycan 4S, Dh601,800 for the Taycan Turbo, and Dh781,800 for the Taycan Turbo S.
