Traffic congestions in Dubai, UAE are a major cause of concern for many motorists who own a used car Dubai. This is about to change soon. A new alternative route from Dubai to Sharjah is being developed to ease the traffic between the crowded routes that join the two Emirates. CarSwitch tells you all about it in its latest scoop.
This 12km link between the Emirates Road and Mohammed Bin Zayed Road is expected to decrease jams by 30 percent. This news is especially exciting for those who travel to and from the Eastern suburbs of Sharjah and Northern Emirates.
As the traffic will move away from the constantly jammed roads, it will open ways for motorists to reach the Emirates Road through Mirdif along Tripoli Road.
Extending the Al Khail road to interface with the Emirates Road between the ways out of E44 and D50, the routes covered will be Business Bay crossing, Rabat Street and Tripoli Street. This project is the second project following the AED 200 million Al Badi Interchange project to ease the flow of the traffic along jammed highways and help avoid car accidents.
According to Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the purpose of this project is not only to ease the flow of traffic but also to strengthen the link between Dubai and Sharjah.
In addition to the expansion of Tripoli road by 5.3 kms, it is also being widened from the Mirdif Interchange. This will be a great relief for motorists who commute daily through Emirates Road in their used car Dubai. Additionally, it will also lead to a great amount of fuel saving for those commuters who used to take longer routes such as Ras Al Khor/Hatta Road or Al Ain road.
To ensure the continuous movement of 12,000 vehicles per hour in either direction, this plan includes a six-lane underpass at the Tripoli-Algiers junction along with at-grade signalised intersection to help reduce the waiting time from three minutes to one minute or less. Furthermore, six-lane flyovers are being built at the Tripoli -Nouakchott and Tripoli-Academic City intersections. Also, Tripoli road and Emirates Road will also be connected through a flyover.
This venture is expected to be ready by early next year and is something that owners of used car Dubai should look forward to. If you don’t own a car in Dubai yet, this might be a good time, considering the efforts being made to improve the traffic flow.
