Driving in bad weather conditions in your Dubai used car can seriously endanger your life and your property. Adverse weather conditions such as fog, rainstorms, hail, snow or sandy terrain can decrease visibility and make driving really difficult. If you want to reach your desired destination ALIVE, follow CarSwitch.com’s following tips.
- Check your car
Before heading out in tricky weathers, check your car for any signs of potential repair or maintenance. Ensure that your Dubai used car is fit for travelling in bad weather. That includes thorough evaluation of indicators, vipers, brakes, lights, tires and steering wheels or any issues that might cause car troubles.
- Slow down
Better safe than sorry. Reduce your speed by about 10 miles per hour if you feel a bit vulnerable. Cut it back about 5 miles per hour more till you feel comfortable.
- Avoid tailgating
Always keep a distance of about 100 yards between you and and the car ahead to give you plenty of space to stop in case the other person stops suddenly.
- Turn on the fog lights
If you are driving in foggy weather, turn on your fog lights. Fog lights are yellow and improve visibility in the fog as compared to white lights. They are positioned lower to the ground and light up the area upfront well.
- Avoid driving through puddles
If you are driving in rainy weather in your Dubai used car, avoid driving in rain soaked roads. Your car will probably shut off if the rain gets sucked in your air- valve and into the engine.
- Feather your brakes
Feather your brakes after you you have driven through a wet surface. Keep your feet away from the gas. This helps create friction and heat that helps dry the brakes.
- Keep an emergency stock kit
It’s always a good idea to stock a few car tools in case your Dubai used car acts up. An emergency stock kit includes; jumper cable, tow rope, air compressor, road flares, blanket and a flashlight.
You may also want to invest in all-season tires if you plan on going in harsh, gravely off-road terrain. All-season are one of the best ways to turn your on-roader into an off-roader machine.
