This year marks the end of a decade and in these past years we’ve seen an array of cars from different brands. Sadly, this year also marks the end for some of these great cars with car makers shifting to SUVs, hybrids and electrics. But many cars from this decade will remain a part of used cars in Abu Dhabi for a while. CarSwitch.com lists cars that will be discontinued in 2020.
1. Cadillac CTS, AT4 and XTS
Cadillac seems to be changing a lot in its lineup. We’re not sure whether it is just dropping the nameplates or is planning something big. What we do know is that the CTS and its high-performing variant, CTS-V have been replaced by the all-new new Cadillac CT5 and CT5-S. The CT4 is the replacement for the beloved ATS. Lastly, for the XTS there is no replacement planned as yet.
2. Chevrolet Cruze
Chevrolet Cruze is one of the most admired compact sedans in the segment. Going head to head with industry leaders such as Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla, the Cruze has had a good run since its inception. Unfortunately, with the shift of demand towards crossovers, the company had to cut its losses. Still, saying goodbye to this one isn’t going to be easy.
3. Ford Taurus and Fiesta
Ford Taurus is the full-size sedan that revolutionized America with its well-rounded design and excellent quality. It was even the best-selling car nameplate in the US between 1992 and 1996. Similarly, Ford Fiesta is a popular compact hatchback among the Ford lineup which came into existence in 1976. Unfortunately, both these beloved Ford models will be no longer with us in the next decade as the company plans to focus more on its crossovers and SUVs.
4. Audi TT
Audi TT is a sporty little coupe, also available as a convertible that has delivered a dynamic mix of performance and styling. The discontinuation of Audi TT was done in favor of Audi’s plan to go fully electric in the coming years.
5. Toyota Prius
Toyota Prius gained recognition by being one of the first ever hybrids in the market. For years, it remained the eco-friendly alternative. However, it will be replaced with the latest Corolla Hybrid in 2020.
6. Ferrari 488
This mid-engined V8 is definitely a car we are definitely going to miss. Even though Ferrari 488 delivers a powerful performance and timeless aesthetics, it has been dropped. The silver lining is that its legacy will continue with the all-new Ferrari F8 Tributo.
7. Volkswagen Beetle
This is probably one of the hardest goodbyes of the decade. The little bug leaves behind its legacy of being the peoples’ car. It has made its way into the hearts of many with its mini looks and quirky performance. However, the last Beetle rolled off the production line just a while ago, making way for the electric Volkswagen ID.3. RIP, little bud. You will be missed!
Sadly, these cars will not enter the next year with us but you might be able to find them among used cars in Abu Dhabi. However, they have also paved the way for many futuristic cars, some of which we have already seen. If you’re looking for any of these used cars, the easiest way to find them is through CarSwitch.com!
