This all-new Range Rover HST gets power from a 3.0L supercharged straight-six cylinder powerhouse and 48V battery. The mild-hybrid system helps restore energy that goes to waste while braking in to the battery. That energy aids the engine to improve the efficiency of the engine. With the rising shift towards electric SUVs, this seems to be a step in the right direction by Land Rover.
Additionally, it also consists of an electric turbocharger system. This system uses electric power to spool up the turbocharger at high speed to reduce the lag time. Hence, this new mild-hybrid Range Rover has better performance as well as fuel economy then its predecessors.
With this engine, the Rover HST can produce 394 hp and can do 0 to 100 km/hr in almost 5.9 seconds topping off at 225 kph. The integration of hybrid technology also makes it fuel economy average of 30.5 mpg. Also, its carbon dioxide emissions show a 12% decrease than its forerunner.
This special edition Rover also gets some exterior updates. It now has a carbon fiber hood, vent, grille and tailgate trim along with red brake calipers. The interior gets a new color combination along with dynamic sports seats, suede steering wheel and satin chrome paddle shifters.
