Nissan just revealed its completely electric coupé crossover called Ariya. It was revealed at the Nissan Pavilion in Yokohama, Japan. CarSwitch.com, an online marketplace to sell any car in Dubai and UAE, did some research to share the details with you.
Performance
Nissan Ariya will be available in two options: front-wheel-drive with 217 hp and all-wheel-drive with 242 hp. Both models have 300Nm of torque. It is predicted that the latter can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds. On the other hand, while the front-wheel-drive will be slower, it will still show a lively acceleration. The headlamps will contain LED lights and mini-projectors.
Range and Battery
Nissan Ariya offers 300 miles (499km) of driving range, which beats the Leaf’s Hatchback by 70 miles (359km). Nissan will offer two different battery sizes: the standard 63 kWh battery pack and an optional premium 87 kWh battery pack. The Ariya can be charged at home (110- and 240-volt) as well as at public stations.
Exterior design
The exterior surface of the car has a traditional Japanese Kumiko pattern in 3-D. The Ariya has five-spoke, 19- and 20-inch aluminium wheels which is quite unique for an all-electric vehicle. The vehicle comes in two packages: 2-tone copper and six 2-tone colour combinations.
Technology
There are two 12.3-inch displays for the digital gauge cluster as well as the infotainment screen. It also has standard features such as an in-dash navigation system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Nissan has installed a Pro PILOT’s Remote Park system which helps in multiple aspects including:
- Navigates through highway traffic
- Sets a specified vehicle speed
- Maintains a safe distance between itself and other vehicles, and
- Parking automatically

Driver safety features
A crash test has not been conducted by The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) yet. However, Ariya contains numerous driver-assistance features such as the Pro PILOT system explained above.

Nissan Ariya has an airy interior and a spacious low-lying floor and comfortable zero-gravity seats. The quiet EV drivetrain and soundproof materials make the entire cabin very peaceful.
