The 15th Dubai International Motor Show has begun! As expected, it displays the best of the automotive industry, including some of the most awaited debuts as well. It also features some of the upcoming cars for sale in Dubai, which means that if you’re a car enthusiast, you definitely shouldn’t miss it. Here are some of the marvels the CarSwitch.com team saw at the 2019 Dubai International Motor Show!
Streit Shaman 8×8
This was definitely a show-stopper. Seeing the Shaman 8×8 in all its glory was the highlight of the show. This amphibious and aggressive vehicle is powered by a 3.0L turbo mated with a 6 speed auto which cranks out about 146 hp. This is definitely the right car for survivalists in the UAE.
Aspark
A Japanese engineering firm revealed this sensational all-electric sports car called Aspark Owl. This $5.1million hypercar is one of the fastest accelerating electric cars as it goes from 0-100 kph in a blistering 1.9 seconds, topping off at 400kph. It pushes out a massive 2012 hp with 2000 Nm of torque which also makes it the most powerful production road car ever.
Chevrolet
The 2020 Corvette Stingray is the first ever mid-engine Corvette in the history of Corvettes. It was on display at the show for the first time after its international debut. It looks absolutely mesmerizing and it’s obvious that it is inspired by fighter jets. We hope to see this car on the UAE roads by mid-2020. Apart from the gorgeous Corvette, the revamped 2020 Chevrolet Captiva and its new compact car, the brand-new Chevrolet Onix were also on display.
Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes had a range of products displayed at the Motor Show. The notable ones among them were the GLE coupe looking bold and sporty, the latest and uber-premium Mercedes GLS and of course the electric EQC 400 with an output of 208 hp and a range of 471 kms.
Cadillac
Cadillac displayed the all-new CT5 sedan which is the replacement of the beloved CTS sedan, the refreshed XT5 and most importantly, the all-new XT6. Caddie’s display of their latest and full SUV lineup gave all the Caddie lovers something to look forward to.
BMW
BMW displayed something for everyone. From the sleek and sporty M5 to the practical and luxurious X7, it gave all buyers at least one or two of its latest cars to turn and look at.
Jaguar Land Rover
Making its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this year, and the Dubai Motor Show was the perfect place for the 2020 Land Rover Defender to make its first public appearance in the UAE. Aside from that, Jaguar showed us some pretty impressive wheels including F-pace, E pace , F-Type and many others. However, the clear winner of the show was the Jaguar I-pace for sure.
Maserati
Maserati displayed the Levante Trofeo Collector’s Edition which looked ravishing in its neon yellow body.. Moreover, others cars from Maserati included the Granturismo MC with Grigio Lava matte body, the Quattroporte SQ4 Zegna Pelletessuta special edition and the Maserati Ghibli Sport.
Lincoln
Lincoln launched its brand-new premium sedan, the 2020 Lincoln Aviator which is expected to be available for sale in the first half of 2020. Powered by a 3.0L six-cylinder twin turbo powerhouse, this 4×4 is mated with a 10 speed automatic transmission and churns out 400 hp. Also on display was the latest Lincoln Navigator, one of the uber-premium SUVs in the segment.
Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi is another top favorite in the UAE and it has managed to impress us time and time again with its amazing SUVs and crossovers. At the 2019 Dubai Motor Show Mitsubishi revealed the latest ASX and the Montero Sport SUVs. Though, the most impressive of all was the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV which made its UAE debut at the show!
Zedro Motors
Coming to the concept car that we absolutely loved, Zedro Motors launched the incredible Notorious. Based on the chassis of Infiniti G37, it pushes out an insane 1,250 bhp and looks absolutely cool. The most exciting part is that it is totally customizable from its interior to wheels and it even includes an engraving of your initials.
Nissan
Living up to its title of being one of the top favourite brands in the UAE, Nissan showed us its complete 2020 lineup. From the sporty 370Z to the limited GT-R 50th anniversary Edition, we’ve seen it all. The UAE’s favorite off-roader, Patrol, and the all-new Nissan Sunny were also on display. The new Sunny is based on the new CMF-B platform and looked impressive with its razor sharp looks. To add to it, they also launched two UAE specific models – Gazelle Storm and Navara Gazelle. Inspired by the swift footed Gazelle, this is a one-off concept vehicle for UAE buyers.
Hongqi Motors
Hongqi, a Chinese automanufactuer revealed the priciest Chinese car ever made available for sale, the Hongqi L5. it is used as an official state car of China. It is powered by a twin powered V8 paired with an 8-speed automatic. It also revealed its flagship SUV, HS7. Another one of its SUVs, HS5 was also showcased at the show.
