The 2020 BMW 7 Series is finally here after many rumors. The car has received both style and tech upgrades. BMW probably decided to go big on designing this year because the current generation 7 series failed to make a mark. CarSwitch.com dug up some key details of the car including the specs, new trims, and it’s upcoming car for sale.
Front Design
The luxury limo now has a huge kidney grille which gives it a powerful visual presence. The grille is 40 percent larger than the grille on the current variant. All the U.S. models get an aluminum satin finish, with the exception of the maxed out M760Li xDrive model that has a Cerium Grey finish. The massive grille is mated with a set of redesigned adaptive LED headlights, which can be replaced with the optional laser headlights. The hood has also received a facelift, it has been reshaped and the fenders look a little more muscular now.
Rear Design
The back of the 2020 BMW 7 has a slim light strip which extends across the entire tailgate connecting the taillights. The new clusters are around 1.4 inches thinner than those of the current model and also get a new design.
Interior
Inside, the 2020 BMW 7 Series gets the company’s latest digital instrument cluster. The car also has new leather and trims options. It also offers improved acoustic comfort. The car also provides wireless charging, which is located in front of the cup holders.
Engine
The range-topper M760 gets a V12 engine with 600 horsepower and 627 pound-feet. There is also an option of a re-engineered variant of the 4.4-liter V8 which generates 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. With the new V8, the car can go from a standstill to 62 miles per hour in only 62 miles per hour.
There is also a plug-in hybrid variant that combines a six-cylinder engine rated at 280 horsepower and an electric motor rated with 113 horsepower. The electric energy is stored on a new lithium-ion battery. The system will provide a combined peak power of 389 horsepower which means it can make the car go from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.9 seconds.

A hybrid variant of the Sport Steptronic transmission is used by the PHEV powertrain with an improved separating clutch which links to the engine.
The car is expected to make it to the showrooms by April this year. It will be available in five specifications, four all-wheel-drive variants, and one RWD.
