Get ready Dubai used car owners, Ferrari has a new special surprise for you! Even though, Ferrari has stuck to its gun by making only sportscars, but it’s now venturing into the SUV category by launching a very unconventional “shooting snout” Ferrari, with a characteristic body style resembling a coupe-wagon.
We have all seen the standard 4×4 design for SUVs but respect should be given to Ferrari for giving its customers a new take on the standard SUV prototype. The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso has a pretty long bonnet, with tow long doors and a tail that is seen on most hatchbacks.
While the design may not strike as particularly attractive for many Ferrari owners or Dubai used car owners, but it does take a while for it to grow on you, we believe. Of course, if you are paying so much cash you would expect to to be good.
The cabin is shrouded in leather upholstery on almost every inch. There is a tinted panoramic roof and the climate control is pretty good for Dubai’s sultry weather. There are also spherical vents for all riders and a middle vent on the dash that opens when the car is started. The four seater has firm seats that are heavily bolstered with decent legroom upfront.
On the front, there is a wide screen that supports Apple Carplay. It includes controls for Bluetooth, stereo and navigation. There is also a little touch screen on the passenger side that when customised can show G-force, revs and speed – a quirky new addition to keep the guests entertained.
The car is among the last naturally aspirated Ferrari’s powered by a 6.3 V-12 engine. The Lusso comes with the standard all-wheel drive with a 7-speed dual clutch automatic. The V-12 churns out 681 horsepower at 781 horsepower. The car builds up speed linearly and by the time it reaches the higher scales, it is running pretty fast. It can go from 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds with a fuel consumption rate of 20 litres/100 km.
The Lusso is a massive car at the end of the day and isn’t the sharpest sheep by Ferrari standards and it does take some getting used to. The steering has a tight ratio, body roll doesn’t really exist and the ceramic brakes are massive but can be easily modulated as long as they are warmed up.
The GTC4 Lusso is not exactly the car that will give you the ultimate Ferrari experience but it can is really fun to drive around if you can manage the size and driving position.
