The vacation season is here! If you are traveling around any of these parts, beware the world’s deadliest roads. Thankfully, we don’t have such roads in the UAE. They may make a thrilling ride for those fond of adventure, but for the most part, they are extremely dangerous, so watch out!
Passage du Gois, FranceYou shall not pass! At least not the Passage du Gois during high tide. This seemingly safe passage is covered by 13 feet of water during high tides, making it virtually impassable for cars. It’s only safe for travel twice each day.
Yungas Road, BoliviaClaiming up to 300 lives a year, the Yungas Road is rightly termed “The Death Road”. It’s an essential transport route full of dramatic drops, narrow lanes, and loops. Locals also have to contend with the forces of nature from time to time, including mudslides, impromptu waterfalls, fog, and rain.
Karakoram Highway, PakistanTraveling on the world’s highest-altitude international highway is no drive in the park! One of its section reaches more than 15000 feet in altitude. In the summer, monsoon rains often cause mudslides and wash out the highway. Come winter time; poor weather conditions including fog, snow, and avalanches frequently result in the closure of the highway.
Tianmen Mountain Road, ChinaNot to be confused with the haunted Tuan Mun Road in Hong Kong! This one may be short (around 6.8 miles long) but it features nearly a hundred bends to reach to the top of the Tianmen mountain. Some of the bends are very close together so drivers need to proceed with extreme caution. Especially if their car’s brake pads haven’t been checked!
Eyre Highway, AustraliaIt doesn’t look particularly dangerous, does it? You would be surprised then to learn about the number of accidents that occur here and the reason for it will shock you even more. Most of the accidents happen because the monotonous scenery stretching on for miles and miles can make the drivers fall asleep at the wheel.
Always drive safely, folks, no matter what road you are on! And if you are looking to sell car in Dubai, UAE, to upgrade to a bigger / safer one so you can head out for a family trip, CarSwitch.com experts can help you out!
