The 2021 Silverado left us all somewhat unimpressed and a little disappointed, with a cheap-looking cabin, issues with engine, transmission, drive system along with other things. However, the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado is coming up with massive updates and looks to be making a comeback after being surpassed by Ram Trucks in recent years. Today at CarSwicth, we will look into the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado. If you want to buy any used car in KSA, CarSwitch is the best platform for you.
Engine and Drivetrain:
The impressive thing about the 2022 Silverado 1500 is the options in engines, providing four different options and with turbocharged, turbodiesel, and two V-8 options. It is expected that Chevy would include the hybrid option to keep with the competitors like Ford and Ram and to avoid rough throttle responses at low speed which were observed in previous Silverado’s.
Engine | RPO code | Drivetrain | Power (hp @ rpm) | Transmission | Torque (lb-ft @ rpm) |
2.7L Turbo I4 | L3B | 2WD/4WD | 310 @ 5,600 | 8-Speed automatic | 420 @ 3000 |
5.3L V8 | L84 | 2WD/4WD | 355 @ 5,600 | 10- Speed automatic | 383 @ 4,100 |
6.2L V8 | L87 | 4WD | 420 @ 5,600 | 10- Speed automatic | 460 @ 4,100 |
3.0L I6 | LM2 | 2WD/4WD | 277 @ 3,750 | 10- Speed automatic | 460 @ 1,500 |
The engines of the 2022 Silverado are in the spotlight. All four of the power plants are carryovers from 2019- 2021 Chevy Silverado. However, the 2.7L I4 L3B receives a significant upgrade which means higher torques. The standard engine for the 2022 Chevy Silverado is 2.7L I4 L3B turbocharged. It has received a high-output upgrade with an estimated 20% in torque 348 to 420 pound-feet thanks to a new, more rigid cylinder block casting along with a 30-percent-stiffer crankshaft.
The Chief Engineer, Tom Sutter claimed, “The new 2.7L Turbo is a technological marvel, with our the most advanced Valvetrain. With a broad, flat torque curve and quick throttle response, it punches above its weight, delivering surprising performance and efficiency.”

2021 Chevy Silverado left disappointed with the interior Chevy has made sure this is not the case this time and has improved the interior a lot.
There’s a nice mix of colors and textures with the glossy black plastic around the screens, the matte finish on the main dashboard, the dash with a modern design that highlights the width and hides the panel’s height. All these improvements give a much better look to the cabin.
There are two new screens added, a 13.4-inch-diagonal horizontal touchscreen and a 12.3-inch-diagonal digital, configurable instrument cluster. These screens, as with the entire new interiors, are standard on the Silverado LT and above.
