The Koenigsegg Regera is one beast of a machine alright! The numbers will simply blow you away and the looks are another matter entirely. From the word go, this luxury hybrid hypercar had car enthusiasts drooling all over so no wonder it sold like hot cakes. The company confirmed that every one of the 80 units of Regera scheduled for production has already been sold. Insane, right?
In less than a decade, the Swedish automaker has made waves in the industry with its fast cars, including the Koenigsegg One:1, Agera, and Trevita. There are only a handful of Koenigseggs in the market and this one was the largest vehicle series for the company.
A Tour-de-force of Technology
Company CEO, Christian von Koenigsegg, called it the ‘greatest technical triumph’ for the company thus far. A hypercar suited for grand touring, the Regera boasts a triple-electric motor system and a twin-turbo, V8 engine that cranks 1500 hp and over 2000 Nm of torque. Instead of a traditional gearbox, it features Koenigsegg Direct Drive system that ensures better handling and an exhilarating driving experience.
And let’s not forget the speed which is simply mind-blowing! The Regera can jump from 0-100 km/h in less than 2.8 seconds and tops out at nearly 400 km/h. In Swedish, Regera means “to reign”; an appropriate name for a vehicle that blends loads of power, comfort and fast acceleration.
