Lazzarini Design Studio is back with another design and this time around we have been treated to a two-seat flying car called the FD-One which takes inspiration from the Ferrari Formula 1 race cars from the 1950s. However, this is a concept car, so you will have to settle for one of the Dubai used cars for now if you want to upgrade your ride.
FD-One Performance
The designer has also whipped up some specifications for the FD-One. The company says the tricopter is powered by a hybrid system that consists of a V12 petrol engine and 6 electric engines. Four of the electric engines are in the front and two are at the back. A belt system connects everything and there are also three battery packs on the underside. Lazzarini Design Studio believes that the craft will be able to hit 310mph and that it will be able to stay in the air for three hours at a time.
FD-One Exterior
The FD-One features three pairs of co-axial electric propellers in place of conventional wheels. The company envisions it to be 24-foot long and to not weigh more than 1,000 kgs. The exhaust pipes, cockpit, and racing stripe have all been inspired by the Ferrari 500 F2 apparently.
Lazzarini Design Studio Is Currently Looking for Investment to Make a Working Prototype of the FD-One Concept
So, will we ever get to see the FD-One in flesh or is it too futuristic to ever go into production? Well, Lazzarini Design Studio is not the one to shy away from bold ideas. The company has already released the F33 Spaziale yacht which is a spaceship-inspired boat. This is proof that fictional cars might soon become reality.
So, what’s stopping the company from turning the FD-One concept into reality? The company says it’s currently seeking funding to create an actual working prototype. And presumably, if everything goes right with prototyping, we might see an actual version sometime in the future. However, the specifications mentioned before might be tweaked if the concept is turned into a production model. But then again, we don’t think consumers will actually mind, as long as they get to fly a car.
Since we are looking at an open cockpit, chances are that the craft will not offer a high flying altitude. Again, as long as the vehicle takes off the ground and offers safety, we think car enthusiasts will be thrilled and will not really mind a low altitude. There is also a camera on the front to improve visibility for the pilot.
