Great news, UAE folks! The new public bus on the roads of Abu Dhabi will be a high-tech E-bus, made in UAE. Even if you haven’t planned to sell your car in Dubai and switch to an electric vehicle, you can contribute to the environment by using this new eco-friendly alternative to transportation. CarSwitch.com is here to tell you all about it in its latest scoop.
The display boards showing the timings of the E-bus can now be seen on bus stops indicating that this service will soon be available to the public. Starting from the Abu Dhabi Bus Terminal, the E-bus will cover Al-Wahda mall, World Trade Center, Corniche street, the Founder’s Memorial and Marina Mall.
Trial run for the bus is already taking place and according to the Department of Transportation (DoT), the results seem very convincing. After the addition of electric SUV to the Dubai Police Fleet, this is yet another action taken to make the roads of UAE more Eco-friendly.
E-bus is a creation of Masdar and according to the Masdar Director of Real Estate Development and Asset Management, the launch date of the E-bus remains unknown though due to the promising outcomes of its testing, it might be available for use soon.
Masdar is continuing its efforts and plans to launch more buses soon after the launch of this one. Safety tests are still ongoing on the bus considering the severe UAE weather and evolving technology.
As much as we know right now, the E-bus will be made of lightweight aluminum body with water cool batteries and could cover around 150 kms in one charge. Additionally, this zero-emission bus has been specifically designed to survive the hot climates.
Sounds amazing, right? The UAE Government seems to be working hard to create a green and clean environment for its residents. Car owners can also contribute to this initiative by selling car and switching to electric cars in the UAE. To buy or sell your car, hop on to CarSwitch.com right now to have a hassle free experience!
