A brand-new 2026 Santa Fe starts at AED 193,000. A 2021 model on CarSwitch? Most are listed around AED 67,000 (CarSwitch listings data, July 2026). That’s a saving of roughly AED 127,000. The car is five years old, typically has about 60,000 km, and still holds up well for families who need space and a reliable daily driver.

One year newer makes a noticeable difference. The 2022 Santa Fe lists around AED 82,000 — still about 58% less than new, but AED 15,000 more than the 2021. If your budget stretches to either, the 2021 is the stronger value play.

Dodge Charger — around 63% off new

The Charger is a different kind of car. A new one costs about AED 241,000. The 2021 models we’ve listed sit around AED 90,000, with roughly 53,000 km driven. That’s a saving of about AED 151,000 — and the car still has a lot of life left.

Go one year older to 2019 and the price drops to around AED 55,000, but the mileage jumps to about 115,000 km. Go one year newer to 2022 and you’re looking at around AED 130,000 — about 46% off new. The 2021 sits in that sweet spot of low-ish km and steep discount.

Ford Explorer — around 58% off new

A new Explorer is about AED 239,000. The 2021 models list around AED 100,000, with about 60,000 km. That’s roughly AED 139,000 in savings. The Explorer is one of the most searched SUVs on CarSwitch — SUVs make up about half of all buyer searches on the platform — so this one moves.

If you want to stretch your budget further, cars under 50,000 AED include the 2018 Explorer at around AED 46,000 — that’s over 80% off new, though you’re looking at about 91,000 km.

Why the gap is this wide right now

Three things are working in the buyer’s favour. First, the 2021 model year was a big production year after COVID delays. Lots of cars hit the road at once, and now they’re all reaching the used market together. More supply means lower prices.

What to look for when buying

A lower price tag doesn’t help if the car has problems. Here’s what matters on these three models.
