The all electric Rimac hypercar was launched recently which is faster than an F1 car. It is capable of achieving surprising speeds and is very powerful too. In fact, its speed is similar to the Tesla Roadster and Porsche 911 Turbo S.

It is a rare hypercar which can take you from a still point to 60 miles an hour in only 2 seconds. Nevera is a force to be reckoned with. It is engineered, handcrafted and constructed in a way which is obvious that it is meant to outperform. Named after the fast and mighty Mediterranean storm, Rimac Nevera reflects the characteristics of the powerful force of nature.

Electric power

The electric power of Rimac Nevera is pioneered by the futuristic Nikola Tesla and Croatian engineers. Rimac is able to pull out the best performance from the hypercar because it is a specialist of electric power.

There are a total of 4 magnet motors for 4 wheels which direct torque appropriately to offer unrivaled flexibility and control. The vehicle judges the quantity of torque delivered to all wheels more 100 times each second which gives rise to the excellent driving dynamic.

It uses the All Wheel Torque Vectoring system (R-AWTV) which focuses on giving ease, stability, practicality and safety. This system is a replacement for the conventional traction control and ESP. In the comfort mode, a super pleasant drive is experienced as compared to the track mode.

Mechanism and speed facts

The car hosts a 6,960 cell and 120 kWh battery made of nickel, lithium and manganese. The battery is designed and engineered by the automaker. It takes 19 minutes to complete the 340 miles WLTP range from 0 to 80% when a 500 kW charger is provided.

This setup allows the hypercar to achieve the most dynamic torque vectoring. With an unbelievable output of 1.4 megawatts, the total hp is 1,914 and pound feet is 1,740. As for the top speed, it is estimated to be 258 mph.

The 60 mph distance is covered in only 1.85 seconds whereas the 100 mph distance is covered in 4.3 seconds and a quarter mile is completed in 8.6 seconds.

Another fact worth mentioning is that the Nevera reaches 186 mph in 9.3 seconds. This means that it is faster than an F1 car but it has the weight of only 2,150 kg as opposed to the 725 kg which is the least weight of the Formula 1 racer.

Structure and drive

The hypercar’s design signals performance and purpose because it is bold yet completely original. The framework of Rimac Nevera consists of a solid structure.

There is a monocoque core and underneath the skin, a carbon fiber monocoque with carbon roof is found. Moreover, there is a rear carbon subframe and integrated battery pack. All these components are constructed in-house and it’s lightweight.

The braking system is made of an extremely clever electro hydraulic booster with a pedal feel stimulator which divides the stopping force between the electric powertrain and carbon ceramic brakes relying on the brake that is thermally optimal at a given time.

Moreover, at 300 kW, the hypercar boasts the highest regenerative braking of all EV. At 70,000 torque per degree, it is the most rigid road car. This heavy tech purpose is seen in the electric power steering which utilizes steer-by-wire. This allows adaptive driver feedback relying on the driver mode.

The mechanism also works as a drive-by-wire system during the Driver Coach mode which showcases high racing lines and car control. This is actually the built-in AI driving coach of Nevera made of 13 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, it’s NVIDIA Pegasus operating system (which is also functional in autonomous driving mode) and 6 radars.

The driver is able to maximize their track driving capabilities. The system will display chosen race circuits, providing visual and audio instructions to perfect steering, points of acceleration and braking and racing lines. However, this Driver Coach mode will be available next year through an over-the-air update to existing Neveras.

Interior

Inside, everything is plush and bespoke. Billet aluminum is used to make switchgear, doors and air vents. €50,000 is utilized for constructing the torque adjustment and the big round selectors with screens in the middle for opting driver modes. There are run softwares, 3 HD TFT screens and graphics.
