As a tribute to GT-R on completing half a century, Nissan has launched the GT-R 50th Anniversary Edition and it’s incredible! Since its inception, GT-R and its counterparts have gained tremendous acclaim. This latest edition is going to be an even bigger treat for car enthusiasts. CarSwitch.com, an online marketplace for certified used cars in Dubai, has put together this guide to help you learn everything you need to know about this special edition.
Nissan GT-R is a champion of the past and even the present. Started off as Nissan Skyline GT-R, it gained immense success as a road car and as a racing car. After it separated from Skyline and resurrected as Nissan GT-R, it earned its repute as a beast on the road. The all new GT-R Limited Edition was revealed at the 2019 New York Motor Show and is designed in a way to suit all kinds of buyers.
This king of the road will come in three different dual tone exterior color combinations. Each of these depict a livery from the Japan GT Championship where the original GT-R dominated. It will be available in the classic bayside blue with white racing stripes, pearl white with red stripes and Super Silver with white stripes.
The 2020 Nissan GT-R features an updated engine with a revised chassis tuning. Under its hood, it has a twin turbo 3.8L V6 handmade powerhouse. While this powerhouse is close to perfect, engineers have gone up a notch by replacing old turbochargers with new ones. Hence, it will increase the lower rpm response along with 5% more efficiency and tighter clearance.
The GT-R comes with a 6-speed dual clutch automatic gearbox which aims to power all wheels. However, the Track-Ready R drive mode has a different programming. As per Nissan, it will have more downshift force which lessens the need to switch back and forth manually. The car will also deliver smoother ride and will corner better due its improved chassis with a returned suspension. Similarly, optimized steering and braking systems will increase responsiveness.
A new titanium muffler with titanium finishers and blue tips comes its signature exhaust note.
With such awesome performance dynamics, how can the interior enhancement be any less? Combining luxury with sport, it matches a driver-focused cabin with supportive rear and front seats. The dashboard is wrapped in hand-picked Nappa Leather designed in takumi-style. It also features a sporty steering wheel with paddle shifters making it easy for drivers to shift gears without taking their hands off.
Other models available are GT-R Track Edition and Nissan Nismo GT-R. Both of these cars have received tweaks for the year 2020 along with new turbochargers.
Nissan has always been popular in the UAE, and hopefully this new addition to the lineup will get a great response.
