Introduction
Lamborghini Urus is a high-performance SUV which redefines the capabilities of this car segment. It is one of the fastest production SUVs in the automotive industry which has recently set a new record.
The record was made on ice at Lake Baikal, in Siberia which boasts the biggest freshwater and deepest lake in the world. At the “Days of Speed” festival conducted by LAV-racing company, Urus set the record which was the first time for Lamborghini to participate in the festival.
This official annual sports event was held between 10 to 13 March. It strictly follows the rules of the FIA (Federation Internationale dae l’Automobile) and RAF (Russian Automobile Federation).

Record and appreciation
The top speed achieved by Lamborghini Urus was 298 kph or 185 mph on the frozen lake. Moreover, in a practice run, Urus even went to 302 kph. The Chief of Eastern Europe and CIS of Lamborghini, Konstantin Sychev expressed:

Engine, transmission, performance and fuel economy
The Lamborghini Urus is fueled by a twin turbocharged V8 petrol engine which produces a strong 641 hp and 850 Nm of peak torque, mumbles deeply when still, and superbly howls during full speed.
It is paired with an 8-speed dual clutch automatic transmission and a permanent all wheel drive which guarantees excellent acceleration. The 0-60 mph distance is covered in 3.1 seconds and a quarter mile is completed in only 11.3 seconds at 121 mph.
It’s fast steering and refined high speed cornering makes the SUV feel agile from behind the wheel as well. Due to the air springs in all 4 corners, the vehicle boasts adjustable ride heights depending on different drive modes. With the standard carbon ceramic brakes, it can jump from 70 mph to zero in 149 feet. According to the EPA estimation, Urus will offer 12 mpg in the city and 17 mpg on the highway.
Cabin and comfort
Inside the Lamborghini Urus, passengers will definitely feel important in the classic cabin. The interior is made dramatic with the start button hiding underneath the red flip cover, jet fighter style hints all around, and the shifter resembling the jet’s throttle.
At the left side of the shifter, there are levers which control the various drive modes and offer customized performance settings. All around, abundance of carbon fiber and faux suede details are found. The reconfigurable gauges and the infotainment system look very similar to the Audi.
Sufficient passenger space is given in the back seats and it can fit 2 or 3 occupants based on the chosen seating arrangement. The boot storage is unique due to the helpful door pockets and a bin situated behind the floating center stack. It’s cargo space offers 22 cubic feet which diminishes by 2 units when the optional rear bucket seats are used.
Lamborghini Urus is loaded with the newest connection and infotainment system. Apart from the full digital gauge cluster, 2 touchscreens located in the center stack are also provided. This includes settings for the sound system, climate and more. Both the screens boast solid graphics and huge icons.
However, they are not as intuitive as conventional buttons and knobs. In the safety gear, the SUV gives a variety of standard and optional driver assistance functions such as a night vision camera. The key safety features are self parking assist, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, stop and go technology and rear cross traffic alert.
