The 2023 Lyric electric crossover SUV was announced recently and it marks a new era for GM’s sub-brand from the perspective of design. Cadillac aims to go all-in on electric vehicles by the end of the decade. CarSwitch.com, an online marketplace to buy any car in Abu Dhabi, did some research to share the details with you.
The Lyric is a five-seat mid-size vehicle and could achieve an estimated 300-mile range. This is a show car, but there are expected to be minor differences between it and the final version that’s expected to hit dealerships in late 2022. According to Cadillac’s Global Head of Brand Strategy and International Marketing Philip Dauchy, it’s a show car for the automaker’s advanced technology and the design, materials, and execution are totally feasible.
Cadillac Lyriq Performance
The SUV features an estimated 100-kWh battery pack that is perched between the axles on the floor. The new integrated EV platform offers 50/50 weight distribution and a low center of gravity. There will also be a performance variant with two motors fueling both axles to allow an all-wheel drive. It will also support 150-kW DC fast charging.
The car will offer the latest generation Super Cruise driver-assistance system that makes hands-free driving possible on limited-access highways. It also has a remote self-parking feature.

Cadillac Lyriq Exterior
Looking at the design language, it looks like Cadillac has prioritized performance over efficiency. The car is nearly as long and wide as the luxury brand’s XT5 but seems much lower. The long-wheelbase apparently pushes the 23-inch wheels to the corners and its low stance, wide track, and check-mark roofline makes it look almost like a wagon.
By now, you might have guessed, the car is pronounced “lyric.” It flaunts the company’s crest-shaped grille. It will illuminate as the driver approaches the car. The Lyriq also boasts narrow vertical LED headlights and the tapered backs also feature slender vertical LED tail lights.

Cadillac Lyriq Interior
The interior is quite luxurious and reflective of the brand image. A 33-inch curved LED display is embedded with instrument cluster and infotainment and the result is a seamless long panel.
The low floor and unbroken cluster also give the illusion of more space inside. The car also comes with a 19-speaker AKG Studio sound system. It also offers a noise cancellation system so you can travel in peace.
That’s all we know about the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq and the company hasn’t announced the official range yet. Similarly, pricing details have not been announced yet. Given that the vehicle is not coming anytime soon, it could be a long wait before we find out all the juicy details.
