Motorists who play loud music without having any regard for other road users will be liable to pay AED 400 in fine and receive 4 black points. Police have also appealed to the residents to make them aware of such instances through the police hotline.
Abu Dhabi police has launched extended campaigns to guide young drivers about the dangers of changing or altering car parts, rash driving and jeopardizing the lives of other motorists and pedestrians. There is a zero tolerance policy against reckless drivers and street racers in the UAE.
Motorists who drive recklessly will face a hefty penalty of AED 2000 along with 23 black points. Additionally, vehicles will also be impounded for 60 days. Unapproved tweaking of the engine or chassis will lead to a fine of AED 1000 and 12 black points with the vehicle being impounded for 30 days. Motorists violating traffic rules can also receive community service as a punishment.
