The DHA in a tweet called on all the athletes to continue exercising while at home but with appropriate sportswear. The DHA also encouraged those not involved in any physical activity to work out to stay active and healthy. The DHA mentioned in the tweet, “Choose a spacious area away from any furniture or other obstacles to avoid getting injured. Avoid eating heavy meals at least two hours before you exercise. Make sure to drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated and energised”.
The DHA also advised against having a personal trainer at home as that could increase the chances of infection.
“Be careful! Due to the current coronavirus pandemic avoid getting a personal trainer to your home to protect yourself and your family from the risk of infection”, DHA wrote.
The following are the tips shared by DHA to ensure a safe and healthy environment while exercising at home:
- If you are athletic, it is important to continue your active lifestyle by exercising at home.
- If you weren’t physically active before, now is the time to start working out.
- Warm-up before exercising and wear appropriate sportswear
- Exercise in a spacious area away from furniture to avoid injury
- Avoid eating heavy meals at least two hours before you exercise
- Make sure to hydrate by drinking plenty of water
- Be careful when you exercise to avoid any sports injuries
Those who regularly exercised in the parks will have to wait a while before they can start working out there again. According to Al-Hajiri, the Director-General of Dubai Municipality, parks are a part of the National Disinfection Program.
He further added the restrictions will be lifted in three phases.
The big parks will be opened in the last phase of the overall opening. Precautionary measures will be carried out to ensure the health and safety of the public. Moreover, steps will also be taken so that the public adheres to the measures.
