Audi recently revealed its latest addition to the lineup, Audi SQ8 with a mild hybrid diesel engine. If you are planning to sell your car in Abu Dhabi and switch to a hybrid or electric car, this might prove to be a good option. Inspired by Audi Q8, this top of the range car is Audi’s new flagship SUV.
The year 2020 has already started giving us surprises with amazing new car launches, car facelifts as well as bidding farewell to legends like Audi TT and Volkswagen Beetle. The addition of Audi’s new SQ8 is another exciting launch for car enthusiasts.
The new Audi SQ8 offers a 4.0L bi-turbo diesel V8 and has a coupe inspired stylish exterior. It comes with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. It cranks out about 429 bhp along with 664 lb-ft of torque. This SUV can go from 0-62 mph in 4.8 seconds while topping off at 155 mph.
The engine is paired with a 48V mild hybrid which can keep the car running for 40 seconds without power from the engine between the speed of 34 and 100 mph. To keep it fuel-efficient, the engine turns off one of its turbochargers at low speeds, shifting it to hybrid power.
The new SQ8 comes with an adaptive air suspension as standard, which allows ride adjustment by upto 90mm. An advanced suspension package is available as an option. It includes a balanced torque for precise bending along the road, a sport differential as well as all-wheel steering. It comes with electrically operated active roll stabilisation, which dampens body movement through an electric motor.
The Audi SQ8 is based on the Volkswagen Group’s MLB Evo platform and looks similar to the Audi Q8. The most prominent updates include its new S-grille, a revamped front with air intakes, LED lights and alluminuin-effect mirrors. It also comes with a matte black rear diffuser with quad exhausts.
The interior of the SQ8 has been updated with a combination of leather and Alcantara with seats embossed with the S logo. Like the Q8, it has a dual touch screen along with Audi’s Virtual Cockpit.
The SQ8 will be on sale in the UK in a few months. If you’re convinced to sell your car in Abu Dhabi and grab this one, that might not be possible. This diesel version is specific to the UK only and the variant that will be available in the UAE and other countries is still under wraps.
