The 2021 Nissan Kicks has been unveiled. Notable changes include the debut of the e-Power technology and a revamped exterior. CarSwitch.com, an online marketplace to sell your car in Abu Dhabi, did some research to share the details with you.
2021 Nissan Kicks Engine And Performance
The e-Power technology combines a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine, the EM57 electric motor, and a 1.57 kWh battery. However, don’t think of it as another hybrid vehicle, as Nissan has taken another approach. The 1.2-liter engine actually serves as a generator for the cell and, as a result, the driving experience is comparable to that of an EV. Basically, the battery is replenished through the engine and not a charging process. In other words, this is basically a self-charging EV that you will have to refuel.
The car delivers 127 horsepower and 92 pound-feet of torque.
The subcompact SUV offers four driving modes, including Normal, S (for quicker acceleration and braking), Eco (for saving gasoline), and EV (for switching to battery power completely when the engine shuts down).
The one-pedal technology is also available, enabling the driver to start, accelerate, decelerate, or stop the car with just the accelerator pedal.
For safety, the vehicle offers six airbags (front, side, and curtain), hill start assist, vehicle dynamic control, and isofix child seat anchors.
Standard driver-assistance features include forward collision warning, cruise control, blind-spot warning, emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, a digital rearview mirror, and around view monitor with moving object detection.
2021 Nissan Kicks Exterior
The new model gets a redesigned, bigger V-Motion grille which is mated with thinner LED headlights, a facelifted front bumper, and a more aggressive floating roof. The rear bumper shares the same color as the body and overall design is longer and wider. As a result, the new crossover looks much more attractive than its predecessor.
It’s available in the colors Monarch Orange, Brilliant Silver, Radiant Red, Gun Metallic, Black Star, and Storm White. A two-tone color scheme is optional and makes the car look chicer.
2021 Nissan Kicks Interior
Inside, the car gets a new eight-inch Nissan Connect infotainment touchscreen which is compatible with Apple CarPlay, and a seven-inch digital instrument cluster that’s centrally mounted. The steering wheel now looks more premium and the car also features leather seats. If you opt for the VL model, you will also have the option of a dual-tone black and orange interior color theme.
2021 Nissan Kicks Availability And Price
The Japanese automaker has basically made this car for the southeast Asian markets. It’s coming to Thailand this month and prices start from $27,730. It remains to be seen which other markets will be treated to the new version and when it will be making its way to those regions. The GCC version will likely come in a petrol engine configuration, but nothing can be said with certainty. We will keep you posted.
