Lamborghini’s first electric car has finally been unveiled. The Sian FKP 37 hypercar was there at the Frankfurt IAA and it looks just like the leaked renders. The name is inspired by Bolognese and means flash of lightning. The company says this name was chosen to mark its entry into the electric market. Before we proceed, owners of used cars in UAE must know that it’s a limited edition car and it has already been sold out. However, here’s what petrol heads need to know about the fastest Lamborghini right now!
The Lamborghini Sian Has A V12 And A Supercapacitor Under The Hood
The Sian gives car enthusiasts the best of both worlds, promising reduced emissions without compromising power. It marks the Italian firm’s foray into electric cars and the manufacturer has pulled some remarkable feats. At the heart of it, the Sian expedites the company’s 6.5-litre V12 engine and pairs it with a supercapacitor that it says gives the auto three times more power than a lithium-ion battery of the same weight.
Together, the engine and the electric motor can provide more than 800bhp. Lamborghini claims this is their fastest car and can go from naught to 62mph in less than 2.8 seconds. As far as top speeds are concerned, the carmaker hasn’t revealed them yet but says that they will be more than 217mph.
The electric motor is 48V and it is integrated into the gearbox. This design enables the car to do low-speed stuff such as reversing and parking with electricity only. It’s worth mentioning that the motor creates 34 horsepower. Thanks to the supercapacitor, charging and discharging is supported with the same power. This means that every time the driver brakes, the supercapacitor is charged. The energy is saved and it enhances power and gives more torque during acceleration.
Its Design is a Winner
Design-wise, the Sian is a looker. It has sculpted aero wings, sleek headlights, and a carbon-fibre body. The car features a smart heat material that rotates vanes for additional airflow when a specific temperature is reached. Sian’s centre console has a touch screen and 3D parts have already been used on the inside. The company says the design has been inspired by the Countach but at the same time, Sian is more of a futuristic vehicle.
Sian Has Sold Out Already
The number 63 can be seen as an ode to the car’s 1963 foundation year. It also symbolizes the fact that only 63 units will be produced. Although it costs a whopping £3million, all the units have been sold out. All the units will be unique as the owners will be able to work with Ad Personam to customize the vehicle.
