The Mitsubishi’s Outlander Sport, which will be sold as the Mitsubishi ASX in Europe, has received its fourth redesign. The car first made a debut in 2011 and was in desperate need of a complete design overhaul. But if you wanted to sell your car in Abu Dhabi and invest in the newest Outlander, we want to break it to you that it has only received a minor facelift. Here are some light updates that the Outlander received!
A New Design
The subcompact SUV looks like it has taken design cues from the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. The redesigned Outlander gets a sharper, sleeker front which seems more upright. The rear design is not a huge diversion from the previous ASX/Outlander Sport but it gets new taillights and bumper. On the side, a character line can be seen running near the door handles and it looks pretty good. The car has also cribbed Eclipse’s fog lamps, turn-signal elements, and a skid plate.

Minor Changes On The Inside
Mitsubishi has also made some changes to the interior. The center console looks more rectilinear. The infotainment screen is now 8-inches. It will be able to play videos saved on USB drives even when the car isn’t moving. The car maker also plans to release a companion app which will enable users to check fuel levels even when they aren’t the in the car. This will be really convenient and useful.

A 2.0-liter I4 Engine
The European variant of the 2020 Mitsubishi Outlander, the ASX will get a 2.0-liter I4 engine paired with either a continuously variable transmission or a five-speed manual. The company hasn’t revealed powertrain options for the U.S. yet but it will most probably sport a 148-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder which offers 144 pound-feet of torque. The current variant is available in both front and all-wheel drive configuration. The all-wheel-drive models just have CVT, while front-drive versions also have manual.

New Color Options
The refreshed car will be released later in 2019 in the U.S. Three new color options are also available: Oak Brown, Sunshine Orange, and Red Diamond.
The Outlander Sport is the best selling Mitsubishi vehicle in the U.S. and by that, you can assess its popularity. Moreover, it’s the company’s third-best seller worldwide. Needless to say, this is a pretty successful SUV. The company is also rumored to be working on a smaller next-generation model.
