A new V-6 engine
Lexus LX 600 is fueled by a twin-turbocharged 3.5 liter V6 which is a replacement for the previous 5.7-liter V8 engine. The total power output is 409 ponies 479-pound feet of torque. These figures show an increase of 26 hp and 76 lb-ft. It’s the highest torque is recorded at 3600 rpm which is ideal for off-roading.
The engine is mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission which is a replacement for the old 8-speed gearbox. This new gearbox boasts a low first gear for “a smooth start and powerful low-speed off-road driving performance.”
There are two additional gears and the 10th “keeps the engine speed low during high-speed cruising, resulting in a quiet ride and lower fuel consumption.”
Highly capable with more comfort
At the front, a high-positioned double wishbone suspension and modified coil springs are located. Ride quality and stability are optimized by the 4-link rear suspension. The rebound stroke is boosted for high performance. A new shock absorber arrangement and a refined Active Height Control system (with Low, Hi1, Normal, and Hi2 settings) are added.
As for the dynamics, a new electronic brake system, adaptive variable suspension, and a new electric power steering are offered. Based on what the driver is doing, ride height is automatically adjusted. Weighing 200 kg less than the predecessor due to the new body-on-frame platform and aluminum doors, it’s fuel efficiency is improved.
With these changes, the vehicle is more active and comfortable. The things that remained the same are water fording depth (27.5-inches), break-over and departure angles, and 45° climbing ability.
When it comes to off-road improvements, there are many such as Multi-Terrain Select System (with Sand, Dirt, Rock, Deep Snow, and Mud modes) and a new Auto mode which operates in 4Hi instead of 4Lo. Moreover, Downhill Assist Control, Multi-Terrain Monitor (with 4 cameras to view surroundings), and Crawl Control are available. A new Back Underfloor View camera is added that reveals hidden obstacles.
A transformative but bold exterior
The vehicle boasts a muscular design with a bold spindle grille, thinner headlights, and bigger air intakes. The A-pillars behind the sculpted hood have been “pulled rearward to create a cab-backward design.”
It’s streamlined bodywork features pronounced wheel arches that offer 18-, 20-, or 22-inch alloy wheels. At the back are “Lexus” lettering, a new bumper, and connected tail lights.

A stylish interior
The exterior may be evolutionary but the interior isn’t the same as it follows a contemporary style. Only premium materials are used to make the cabin. For instance, metallic accents, high-quality leather, and wood trim. A 25-speaker Mark Levinson classic sound system and a digital instrument cluster are added inside.
The most profound interior change is the brand new Lexus Interface system, which is also added to the 2022 Lexus NX. This flagship SUV features two varying screens having the dimensions of 7- and 12.3 inches.
The bigger screen displays camera views, navigation, and sound settings. And the smaller screen features vehicle information and a climate control system. Lexus added two screens in order to monitor off-road driving performance efficiently.
Apart from the double screens, the infotainment system displays user profiles, a voice assistant, and cloud-based navigation with Google data.
Luxurious and New F Sport Trims are Added to the Line-up
The SUV is being offered in Standard, Premium, Luxury, Ultra Luxury, and F Sport Trims. The last two are new and are made for unique buyers.
For instance, the F Sport comes with exclusive 22-inch forged aluminum wheels, mesh grille, textured leather on the steering wheel, and sports seats. These changes are deep due to the updated adaptive variable suspension, exclusive Torsen limited-slip differential, tuned dampers, and electric steering system.
Ultra Luxury heads in a different direction with two rear seats with soft urethane, seatbacks, curved headrests, and cushions for maximum comfort. These seats are divided by a huge console that offers covered cup holders, wireless charging, USB ports, a big storage box, headphone jacks, and a DC power supply.
