In order to make sure that the 2022 Audi RS e-Tron GT stands apart from the automaker’s other EV models, the company instructed sound experts to form a new soundtrack especially for the RS e-Tron GT and e-Tron GT. But this soundtrack is only played for the driver.
It’s kind of like an intergalactic hum during acceleration, rising to 78 decibels whir at the complete thrust. The song says that “I am the future”, but it doesn’t pair well with the e-Tron.
The soundtrack that should have been incorporated instead is an adrenaline-pumping one. Flooring the e-Tron GT creates the same rollercoaster rush of acceleration as a coaster in freefall.
Pros
Advanced chassis tech, sub-three-second whirs to 60 mph, sophisticated modern design, and decent range.
The 2022 Audi RS e-Tron GT comes with a twin at the Porsche dealership – it shares it’s an 800-volt electric framework, platform, 2-speed automatic transmission at the rear axle, front and back electric motors, all-wheel steering, and air springs with the Porsche Taycan.
While the Taycan provides rear-wheel drive arrangement, a single motor, and dual motor driven Turbo, AWD 4S, Cross Turismo, and Turbo S. For now, the all-wheel-drive GT is available in two ways – the RS e-Tron GT delivering 637 ponies and e-Tron GT offering 522 horses. Gaining all of this power demands launch control and then you only access the ponies for 2.5 seconds.
According to the manufacturer, the entry-level GT will hit 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. But the RS jumps to 60 mph in only 2.9 seconds and covers a quarter-mile in 11 seconds at 127 mph. The range of RS e-Tron and e-Tron GT is bound to impress the buyers.
According to the EPA, the GT is capable of giving 238 miles and the RS is rated at 232. These are great figures but are not good enough to brag about to more expensive electric vehicles, especially if one talks about Teslas.

Thrilling noise for an EV
The RS GT tours finely on the road. It offers a smooth riding sound that when you read out the speedometer, you will be surprised to see the big numbers.
The low and heavyweight of electric vehicles work in their favor as it allows them to corner smoothly and 590 hp is sufficient to widen your eyes. The RS GT tips the scale at 5171 pounds.
Perhaps the biggest challenge experienced by the GT arises from a short-range, not being the flashiest or fastest thrill in the market. However, the automaker becomes praiseworthy for utilizing the steering wheel paddles to monitor regenerative braking.
This is one of the settings a driver can shift on the fly, like on highway traffic or cruising down a steep hill. It’s a smart move to add easy adjustability so that you don’t have to sort it out from the settings menu.
To drivers experienced with a gas engine, the middle setting will be the easiest for them. The car’s maximum regenerative braking is not aggressive enough to permit one-pedal driving. As an alternative, rear-wheel steering is available and when it is fitted, the back wheels also turn accordingly with the front wheels to maximize high-speed stability.
But below 30 mph, the back wheels turn in the opposite direction to increase maneuverability. Steering efforts are light and get even lighter with the optional Power Steering Plus.
Wearing 21 inches Goodyear Eagle Asymmetric 5 summer tires, it stops from 70 mph at 157-foot which is impressive. However, the 0.93 g of grip on the skidpad is modest for a contemporary sedan as the rivals have a higher grip. Most of the controls are situated towards the driver to boost accessibility.
Electric vehicles have forced us to expect minimal and tech-focused cabins. So, the GT boasts a sharp digital display and a 10.1 inches touchscreen in the heart of the instrument panel.
Audi has made sustainable decisions by making leather-free cabins and most of the raw materials are recycled. But for a less vegan upholstery, you can opt for the higher trim levels. The headroom isn’t that generous due to the stylish roofline.
